The DEFENDER-3 Stab Protection Vest is a widely used choice among professionals in the Security and Public Safety sectors, offering reliable front, back and side protection against stab and slash threats. The vest is suitable for both male and female officers and is designed for practical, everyday use.
The outer fabric is highly durable, making it well suited to law enforcement duties and outdoor environments where equipment must withstand demanding conditions.
At the core of the vest is innovative stab-protection technology developed through years of intensive research. The protective layer combines high-strength aramid fibres with a specialised energy-absorbing polymer, creating a textile composite that is safe, lightweight and flexible. This material provides exceptional resistance to penetration while remaining significantly lighter than comparable metal protection systems.
The design draws inspiration from the armadillo’s natural armour, using an overlapping scale structure that delivers both protection and flexibility. Unlike other designs on the market, the scales cannot be pushed apart, allowing the vest to maintain a high level of protection while still offering natural movement and breathability.
Weighing approximately 1.6 kg (Level 1 protection) and around 2.1 kg depending on configuration, the vest provides a protected area of approximately 0.25 – 0.45 m², considerably more coverage than many alternatives which typically cover 0.1 – 0.2 m².
The lightweight construction, flexibility and breathable design allow the vest to be worn comfortably for extended periods. NOTE: We do not recommend level 3 for vest if you intend wearing for more than 2 hours, or need full flexibility. Level 3 is good for cell extractions, mental health facility response teams, short term assignments. For general security related work level 1 or 2 is suffice to stop knives, scissors, needle stick, glass, spikes, shivs, slashing, up to 24 joules and 40 joules of force, however we are happy to supply to you with level 3 protection if requested.
Please Note: If you choose the incorrect panels we do not exchange, and there is a charge if you require to change the stab panels to a lower or higher level so please ensure that you choose the correct protection level when ordering.
